Join us on the Bogey’s Patio every Wednesday this Summer (except August 21st) from 6-9 pm for Live Music by The Caribbean Club Trio. On August 21st, we will feature The Shari Vandermolen Jazz Trio.
The Caribbean Club Trio is comprised of Zach Preston, Laura Varela, and Will Preston. This trio embodies the unique musical essence of the Caribbean, featuring music from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Brazil and the occasional Jamaican reggae. It’s an old world flavour in a new package, re-imagined into a trio format, instead of a ten piece band. The band of extremely talented, multitasking musicians create a unique performance experience, with everything you hear live off the floor. The trio plays 7 days a week throughout Southern Ontario during the Summer months.
Zach Preston is the guitarist and director of the group, he has studied music between Canada, Latin America and Spain. Originally from Bogota Colombia, singer and percussionist Laura Varela has studied between Colombia, Canada and Cuba. William Preston plays the electric bass, whilst holding down clave and kick pedals with his feet. He has studied music between Canada at Humber College in Toronto, as well as in Cuba, studying Afro-Cuban Bass.
This unique family band of Niagara residents performs all over Ontario during summer months. Spending their winters in their Caribbean Coast of Colombia, in Santa Marta, they bring the sounds and rhythms of the tropics with them to Canada. With fiery guitar, deep soulful bass, driving percussion, and passionate vocals, this music will take you on a tropical journey! So strap in, because we’re going to the Caribbean!
In inclement weather, the band will continue to play indoors in Bogey’s. For more information about The Caribbean Club Trio, please click here.
